We are a team of professional painters based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Our mission is simple ‘Be nice and do nice paint work’.
We specialise in Residential, Commercial and New Builds and are happy to take any job, big or small. We are competent to attend the finer details of a Villa in Ponsonby or Spray a warehouse in Mangere!
At Nice Painting Company we are pleased to take the rough jobs with the smooth jobs. We are happy to assist with tiny property maintenance issues through to larger complete rental paint outs.

Our Story
In 1958 JJ Dunne started a building and painting company in Oxford, England called JJ DUNNE & SON. JJ’s dream was always to have his sons working alongside him. In 1995 Steven (his eldest son) started Noah’s Ark painting Company in Banbury, OXON, UK. In 1996 the company won best new business of the year at the Cherwell Business Awards. In 1997 they won 2nd place in best small business of the year. In 2004 the company was sold to Steven’s first apprentice Peter Flemming. Peter currently runs a very successful Noah’s Ark Painting company in the Oxfordshire region.
After travelling to New Zealand in 2004 Steven helped the operational running of Auckland Commercial Painting. In 2011 he started Nice Painting Company in the Auckland region. Nice Painting Company currently has seven fully functioning teams in the Auckland area.
In his spare time Steven enjoys taking his wife on dates, eating Indian food, learning Farsi, running with his daughter, playing with his Bengal cats, watching Football and NOT redecorating his house.
Steven is married to Emma and they have eight children.They are co-founders of a New Zealand Charity called THE JEREMIAH TRUST helping expectant mothers in crisis pregnancy situations explore options instead of an Abortion. (Psalm 127:3, Psalm 68:5). A generous percentage of our profit at Nice Painting Company supports this work.
